Classes:

When you begin the game, there are three different classes which you can choose from.

1. Knight: A knight is a character class that is skilled with a sword. As you progress in level, you are able to gain additional benefits with sword block being the main difference available from the other classes. At level 10, you become a Warder. At level 20, a Sword Saint. At level 40, Dragon Slayer. At level 60, a Devil Slayer. Each upgraded class adds to the bonuses you receive.

2. Ranger: A ranger is character class that is skilled with a gun. As you progress in level, you gain more gun control which can increase your damage. At level 10, you become a Marksman. At level 20, a Deadeye. At level 40, a Starshooter. At level 60, a Big Shot. Each upgraded class adds to the bonuses you receive.

3. Mage: A mage is a character class that is skilled in the art of magic. As you progress in level, you gain the ability to do more magic damage. At level 10, you become an Adept. At level 20, a Master Mage. At level 40, a Great Wizard. At level 60, a Divine Staff. Each upgraded class adds to the bonuses you receive.

To change your character class, you need to click on your character tab, then the class button. The classes do not change automatically. There are also additional classes you can become if you choose to master more than one character type.

1. Champion: Level 30 Mage/Knight

2. Warlord: Level 30 Mage/Ranger

3. Conqueror: Level 30 Knight/Ranger

4. Jester: Level 40 in all three classes.

Learning Points
One of the first mistakes a new player can make that will cripple a character is in LP allocation. Don’t put LP into stat increases. Strength and constitution can be bought. The other three are boosted by pills from puzzle boxes. Put them all into leveling up Sword or Gun or Magic. I personally went straight to Dragon Slayer then put some into Magic and Gun for more SP and Aim. Each level in Sword/Gun/Magic gives an additional 1/3/5SP(INT dependent increase?), so at later levels, feel free to throw spare points into the untrained classes for more skill points and to get the useful support skills.

Skills
Each class has a separate set of skills, with the set that you can use depending on what weapon you have equipped. Among all the attack skills, each class gets a very useful support skill. Guard increases block chance. Shield increases damage reduction. Aim increases crit chance and also negates enemy blocking, making it a must-have for late-game PvP. Support skills stack with each other but not with themselves, so a popular strategy is swapping weapons to throw up Aim and either Guard or Shield before every PvP battle.

You can benefit greatly from putting points into the skill level of another class, because not only do you get closer to your dual class, but you also gain SKILL POINTS. Especially at later levels when you’re gaining 20-30+ LP per level, if there’s a class skill you’ve not started on yet, level it up, as the low level skills are dirt cheap by that point.

1 sword lvl = 2 SP
1 gun lvl = 2 (if i’m correct in assuming you start the game with 25 base SP, i had to get this one mathematically as i haven’t lvld it in a while >_>)
1 MAGIC LEVEL = 5 SP

Spending Money
With the exception of extreme early game, when you probably have to buy a new weapon from the store, or if you fall extremely behind with your gear, don’t spend money on weapons and armor. Ideally, gear will be solely provided by the Guardian of Dreams, Beggar, Chests, and quests.

Instead all money should be spent on stat boosts at the Healer. This extremely important to keep your character powerful and durable. Buy both strength and constitution for Knight and Mage classes, since strength increases the strength of the regular attack for those two. Also, remember to check to see if you can buy stats before level ups.

Equipment
For early game, just put on the best stuff you can find, with a preference to +Con and +Quick items. In the mid to late game, I started to exclusively use Guardian swords and armors of regeneration.

Pets
Get the Priestess at level 16-20 areas. Then get the Phoenix from 36-40 areas.

Combat
Regular attack normal mobs. Usually the first skill is enough for red and purple mobs. Optionally, cast a defensive spell first for especially tough fights. You should be able to fight in the latest zone without having to use too many skill points.

PvP
Basic PvP strategy is to cast one or both defensive spells, then Aim, then the strongest offensive spell you have. Keep extra dust bags on hand.

NPCs, Chests, and Puzzles
The Beggar will be a major source of gear once you’ve learned the minimum amount to give her to get an item, which is one coin more than the cost of a health potion at the Healer. The item is worth much more than what you’ll be giving her, so you should be making a tidy profit every time you meet. More information here. Minimum values for each level are in Kioyoh’s spreadsheet linked above. Scaring her is substantially less profitable and a bad idea.

The Gambler is a swindler, so just kill him.

The Girl in Red and the Imp both give quests. The Girl holds a grudge, so if you kill her a few times, she stops giving you quests. The best strategy is to accept quests from both of them, but when the Imp asks you to kill the Girl, give up the quest. Otherwise, just do what they want for a nice reward. Some people just kill the Girl for the Imp, which is fine, but I feel the equipment rewards from the Girl’s quests are more than worth the effort. If the Girl auto-attacks you and you want her quests again, run away from her and kill the imp a lot of times to make her friendly again.

The Old Wise Man gives you two choices: Chat or trivia. Trivia is the more rewarding option, and usually only takes some minor searching on Wikipedia.

The Dust Merchant offers you a bag of dust in exchange for half the coins you’re holding. If you don’t have much on hand, feel free to accept. Otherwise, kill her.

The Wishing Well lets you either dive in or throw coins in. Diving is a bad idea if you don’t like losing energy, and I hate losing energy, so I just throw in some money for either double the money, 4 energy, or, rarely, a SP refill. Minimum values are in Kioyoh’s spreadsheet linked above.

For all the math and logic problems, if you’re having trouble, some helpful sites are in the Game Resources section.

Miscellaneous Tips
-In every new town, check all the vendors for quests from their dialogue box.
-Squeeze 50 PvP battles in to get the two PvP badges for the extra energy.

Tips:

- If you need quick experience and money and items are not that important, use the arena. When you fight against other players, you gain more experience than if you fight against mobs. Deposit your money into your bank after though since you will be subjected to revenge on any player whim you have beaten.

- Always carry fairy dust or healing potion with you when you travel throughout the world. You cannot pause a fight to return to town to load up on these items.

- Always have at least once space open in your inventory when you are traveling through the different areas. If you come across a mob who gives you an item and you are full, the item will disappear.

- Do not spend skill points on increasing your strength or constitution. You are able to use coins to increase those at the trainer. As you progress in each, they become more expensive. Skill points are harder to get than coins though so in the end this will help you create a better character.

- If you are about to level, consider buying a fairy dust or healing potion before you do even if you do not need it. Odds are you are going to use it soon and once you level, the price of fairy dust and healing potions increases.

- Defeat alien and demon bosses as soon as possible, The quicker they are defeated, the better chance there is of the items already being enchanted. This can help you develop a much powerful character.
